Victoria has continued its run of encouraging data, with the state recording another day with no new coronavirus cases.
There were just four active cases in the state, with no active cases in aged care.
This is a 97% decrease on the 139 cases reported at the same time in October.
With no new deaths, the state’s death toll remained at 819 – 90% of the national total.
The 14-day average of daily cases state-wide fell to 0.3.
And there were two Victorians in hospital, with none in intensive care.
The state also saw strong testing numbers, with 19,986 results received.
Hopes Victorians can travel to Queensland by Christmas
Queensland’s Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young (pictured above) told ABC Radio Brisbane there’s a good chance that the virus is under control in Victoria, which would open the possibility of interstate travel.
“So, hopefully, we will be able to open borders to Melbourne and not require any form of quarantine,” Dr Young said.
“It’s really exciting when we see where Melbourne is... I just want to see a little bit longer how they go in Melbourne because they've now removed so many of their restrictions, we've just got to see if there’s any undetected virus circulating because people will be out and about.”
