$1.2M upgrades to Victorian public sector aged care homes unveiled

Victoria's Member for Ripon Martha Haylett MP (pictured below, right) has unveiled $1.2 million worth of refurbishments to Maryborough Public Sector Residential Aged Care Services.

The upgrades includes expanding dining rooms, new visitor parking, and converting 10 shared bathrooms to 20 private ensuites.

The renovation has been made possible by a $20 million package to improve Public Sector Residential Aged Care Service (PSRACS) across Victoria.

Avoca Nursing Home and Wattle Rise in Maryborough, about 170km north west of Melbourne, are two of 33 projects to receive funding to upgrade kitchens or gardens.

"The residents at the Avoca Nursing Home are loving their redeveloped dining room and kitchen," said Martha in a post on social media.

"It’s bigger and better than ever - and means they can now all share meal times together."
