$2.1M refurbishment of northern Victoria aged care home complete
The Victorian Government has yet to announce any plans to redevelop NCN Health’s Numurkah Pioneers Memorial Lodge despite community pressure

The Victorian Government has completed a $2.1 million refurbishment of NCN Health’s Irvin House aged care home in Cobram on the NSW border. Seven new bedrooms were added as part of the overhaul, which also converted seven double bedrooms into single bedrooms with private ensuites; upgraded furniture and fixtures throughout the home; and installed a new kitchenette. Additionally, a circular corridor was constructed to promote resident movement, and the facility can now better care for patients with complex needs including dementia. According to Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp (pictured), the Cobram refurbishment was accompanied by a $340,000 bedroom upgrade at the Karinya Nursing Home in nearby Numurkah.
“With these upgrades in Cobram and Numurkah now complete, we’re supporting NCN Health to serve local communities with additional rooms and facilities as a result of this multi-million-dollar funding,” he said.
