5 consecutive days of no new cases in Victoria – as Premier issues stern warning to residents

Victoria recorded zero new cases on Wednesday, and just 30 active cases.

This is a remarkable decrease on the numbers in September, just two months ago, when the state recorded 81 new cases and 2,060 active cases.

These low numbers were reflected in the 14-day rolling average for metropolitan Melbourne, down to 1.7 from the previous day’s number of 1.9.

The 14-day rolling average for regional Victoria remained at 0.

There were also just two Victorians in hospital with COVID-19, with none in ICU.

And more than 17,000 tests were conducted in the 24 hours prior.
