ACSA Board meets Minister for Social Services, Kevin Andrews

The ACSA Board met with Minister Andrews on Friday and was able to explain in detail how members had been affected by the cessation of the Dementia and Severe Behaviours Supplement, announced on 26 June. ACSA pointed out its members had set budgets and employed staff on the basis that the funding would continue.
The Minister acknowledged that the issue was not well handled by government but suggested that Treasury were not going to allow the blow-out to continue. He reiterated the Government's commitment to dementia care.
