ACSA, LASA and Aged Care Guild barrack for aged care in lead up to super Saturday by-elections

The three peak bodies want the candidates for the three by-elections to make aged care a voting issue. They point out that there are 31,000 seniors living in Mayo, 20,000 in Braddon and 27,000 in Longman. Under-funding is the urgent issue; sustainable funding is required. They want:

  • $675 million p.a. to catch up in residential funding
  • $60 million p.a. top up for home care
  • More regional support
  • A sustainable aged care funding structure

And they want a national conversation on ageing and aged care. You can check their key issues paper HERE.
