Adj Prof John Kelly AM continues to represent ACSA members by meeting this week with Caroline Smith, Acting Deputy Secretary Ageing and Aged Care Stream, plus 120 DSS staff as they fine tune the 1 July Aged Care Reforms.
Uncertainty continues about what is going to work with Daily Accommodation Payments (DAPs) and Refundable Accommodation Payments (RAPs). Kelly relates that the current government is demonstrating a willingness to carry on the reforms of the previous government plus address funding shortfalls, such as $11.7 million original budget for Dementia and Severe Behaviour Supplements now projected at $110 million for 2013 14.
