Minister for Aged Care, Anika Wells, has allocated 100 flexible care places to Multi-Purpose Services (MPS), which provide integrated health and aged care services to regional, rural and remote communities in areas that cannot support both a hospital and separate aged care home. This month, the Department of Health and Aged Care is conducting a pilot of care minute targets in MPSs, the findings of which will be used to inform a broader trial which will include more sites. The trial is being conducted in Western Australia, Queensland, South Australia and Victoria, with the Australian Government providing additional funding for homes that take part. The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety recommended that MPSs be expanded and improved. Browse and check availability of aged care homes on agedcare101
