An aged care worker has pleaded guilty to murder after allegedly strangling a resident at an aged care home in Albany, in southern Western Australia.
The worker, Jacob Hoysted, who was 19 at the time of the incident, has been in custody since Christmas last year, when he was charged with the offence, which occurred at Baptistcare Bethel, located in the inner Albany suburb of Yakamia, the ABC has reported.
The resident, Monica Stockdale, was 70 and was living with dementia. Jacob appeared via video link from Casuarina Prison. He will remain in custody until his hearing in the WA Supreme Court in October.
