New Zealand-born Andre Sidler is looking for help to fund Elysium Cruise Lines, a luxury aged care service on upgraded cruise ships.
Billed as a tribute to his 86-year-old Samoan mother, Mr Sidler is proposing to refurbish existing cruise ships as aged care homes that would be anchored off-shore at an array of coastal locations around the world.
These would provide full-time on-call palliative and respite care. He says “the time is right and reinforced by over-enthusiastic focus group feedback on the concept.”
A $25,000 contribution gives you the opportunity to secure first option on a luxury cabin suites, while a one-off sum of $212,500 gets you an off-the-plan luxury suite for the life of the ship and a 25 percent discount of your relatives’ stay.
Sadly with the campaign’s coffers currently sitting at nil, it’s a concept that may not see reality just yet.
