Bolton Clarke survey supports case for increased consumer contributions: Plan B

Bolton Clarke’s inaugural Ageing Well Report, which was released on Monday, supports the case for increased consumer contributions.

The report is based on the results of a survey of more than 2,000 Australians aged 25 to 75-plus about attitudes to ageing, needs, care, and finances.

More than 80% said they or their family are responsible for caring for older people.

In addition, more than half (56%) agreed that the aged care sector is underfunded.

The SOURCE: Earlier this year, a survey by CompliSpace found that 77% of those surveyed believe it is the responsibility of each of us to fund our own care. The Bolton Clarke results back this up.
