Brightwater Care Group has appointed Safe Work Australia Chair Joanne Farrell as its new Chair, replacing retiring Chair David Craig (both pictured above), as the organisation posted a roughly $22 million deficit for the year. Brightwater Care Group provides home care, as well as owning and operating Kingsway Court retirement village and 13 aged care homes. The WA-based Not For Profit brought in approximately $162.5 million for the year, $89 million of which came from residential care; however, it spent $184.4 million, of which $134.6 million went to staff wages. Brightwater thanked David, who has served as Chair for six years, and says Joanne brings a wealth of leadership experience to the role.
“Joanne has held leadership roles in health, safety and environment, communications, government and community relations, and human resources in a long and successful career in the mining industry. “She has also served on several not-for-profit boards and committees, including current roles with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations), the University of Western Australia Senate, Western Australia Museums, the QEII Medical Trust, and most recently Joanne was appointed Chair of SafeWork Australia,” the provider said.
Brightwater in March appointed Catherine Stoddart as CEO, replacing Jennifer Lawrence.
