We also continue to hear stories of other providers who have successfully dealt with the ongoing bushfire crisis. Alistair Christie, the President of the Australian Retirement Village Residents Association, pointed us towards Bupa as an example. The private operator safely evacuated around 200 residents from its aged care homes in Eden (on the NSW South Coast, NSW, pictured), Tumut (in the NSW Riverina) and Eastwood/Bairnsdale (in East Gippsland, Victoria) to other Bupa aged care homes and alternative accommodation before moving them back again – with no media fanfare (or credit).
