Ryman Healthcare’s Australian CEO, Cameron Holland, gave of his time to speak to the 100+ village managers attending our VILLAGE SUMMIT last week in Melbourne, where he spoke of the opportunity to create a new class of Home Care Packages specifically for retirement villages.
With the expansion of consumer directed funding (CDC) in home care, backed up by the on-site staff and age-appropriate accommodation that villages present, he argues they provide a delaying service to people who would otherwise enter residential aged care and cost the Government significantly more.
Cameron sees this discussion as a journey over one to two years, but its logic makes sense.
Grant Corderoy from StewartBrown talks about the potential of new home care packages extending from level 5 up to potentially Level 9, which will be appropriate for villages to support.
