Catholic Health Australia CEO Pat Garcia adds Adjunct Professor to his title

It has been a turbulent time in aged care since Pat Garcia became CEO of Catholic Health Australia in October 2019. A champion for seeking positive change to the sector, including lifting the $200,000 cap on home value in the means test for aged care , Pat has added Adjunct Professor of Politics & International Relations at The University of Notre Dame Australia based in Freemantle, Perth, WA.

“It is a fun thing to do on the side,” said Pat this morning. “I am not leaving Catholic Health.”

Pat revealed had commenced a Ministry Leadership Program with the Australian Catholic University in 2021.

“The Covid pandemic extended our journey a little but I was delighted to complete it this afternoon in the Dandenong ranges with 36 inspiring leaders from the Catholic sector,” he said yesterday.

It was only last week that it was announced Karen Borg had stepped down from her role as CEO of Catholic Healthcare, effective 28 April, with Chief Operating Officer, Josh McFarlane, promoted to the role of Acting CEO.
