Central Coast Council approves 89 ILUs at Diggers@The Entrance club

Council has given approval to the $36.3 million “Yungala” seniors living development at the Diggers@The Entrance club in Long Jetty on the NSW Central Coast. Plans were lodged last year for the 89 independent living units, which will be built across a pair of two- to five-storey buildings on club-owned land, and are set to comprise 87 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom apartments. Amenities will include communal open spaces such as landscaped outdoor courtyard, rooftop garden, and community garden with kitchen and barbecue; in addition, a new carpark will provide spaces for 106 resident and guest vehicles. Yungala is set to be run in accordance with the NSW Retirement Villages Act, and will have a Facility Manager on-site 24/7 to provide support to residents. The land the proposed development will occupy currently contains two houses and a carpark; the club is planning to demolish a bowling green to build a new two-storey carpark for regular traffic.
