Edward River Council’s new retirement village at Deniliquin, in the NSW Riverina, is slated to open its first stage by mid-next year. Stage one of Edward River Village, comprising six homes plus landscaping works, will be completed by August 2023 according to Edward River Council; work began on the site in September.

“Three two-bedroom home designs are available for the first six homes, with another four designs to be made available in future stages,” a Council spokesperson wrote in the Deniliquin Pastoral Times. “Stage five – which will be the completion of the 32-home village – is planned for 2028/29. This could be brought forward based on demand.”

Council gave the go-ahead to development in August, with funding coming from its Infrastructure Reserve as well as the Murray Darling Basin Diversification Fund.
