COVID-19 cases continued on a downward trend in residential aged care last week.
Resident deaths fell to single figures, and resident cases are fewer than half levels seen six weeks ago.
More than 2,000 residents were vaccinated in the week to 10 August 2023, taking the level of fully vaccinated residents to 65.6%.

The SOURCE: The Financial Report on the Aged Care Sector 2021-22 showed that COVID-19-related expenses dragged residential aged care operator results down by a loss of $6.37 per resident per day – and millions of dollars in COVID-related grants are still outstanding. The pandemic continues to take a toll on aged care operations.
