Some states are taking up to three months to complete 80% of assessments from MyAgedCare, with QLD and TAS the worst performers, Australian Ageing Agenda reports. Three states – QLD, TAS and SA – met a deadline to submit plans to improve their performance last week, while the Dept was still waiting to hear from other states. The Govt rejects that a lack of Commonwealth funding is the cause of the delays – rather, it blames the teams’ workforce numbers and technology. Some teams are using iPads and an application that can cut assessment time by 30 minutes, while others are using “very old technology”, a representative said. States are now being asked to focus on “timelines of assessments, staff education and the efficiency of systems”.
