A section of roof was damaged at Estia Health Albury, located 464km south of Sydney on the Victorian border, in severe thunderstorms on 13 February. Staff evacuated all residents from affected areas, moving them to other areas of the 80-bed residential aged care home. "All our residents and staff are safe and well, with no injuries," a spokesperson for Estia Health told The SOURCE. However, a small number of residents have been temporarily relocated to nearby aged care homes. Senior Estia Health staff and external contractors are assessing the damage. "Once the assessment is completed, we will have a better understanding of the repairs required," the spokesperson said. "We are grateful for the support being provided by other aged care providers and health services in the Border region. And wish to thank the SES and other emergency services who attended the home on 13 February." Estia Health has been acquired by US-based Bain Capital, and delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange on 18 December 2023.
