We were interested to see that Stockland’s new Willowdale clubhouse was opened by Dr Mike Freelander MP, the Federal Member for Macarthur, alongside Anoulack Chanthivong MP, State Member for Macquarie Fields.

Federal Minister for Brisbane Trevor Evans was also on hand to lead proceedings for the opening of the Sellwood building at Aveo’s Clayfield village.

It’s a sign that retirement villages really are on elected politicians’ agendas.

With 2,000 retirement villages across the country, they are a major feature and service in nearly every community.

At a local level, politicians understand this. They also see the daily successes. The sector should be acting more proud of its contribution.
