The 35-year-old male aged care worker, who pleaded guilty to assault, has been jailed for four months at Manly Court on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. He was secretly filmed by the daughter of the 82-year-old dementia resident, striking him repeatedly with his shoe and then pulling him to the floor as he attempted to remove his clothes. Prakash Paudyal told the court that he was working 55 hours a week across two jobs and financially stressed. Across his aged care career, he had worked at four facilities including Bupa’s Seaforth facility where the assault took place. It had passed accreditation just nine days before the assault.
