Good news – capital city home values experience strongest increase in three years

The Property Council reports that the RP Data Home Value Index shows that capital city dwelling values increased by 2.8% in the March quarter, the strongest result in three years. In March the increase was 1.32%, the best results since May 2010. Adelaide is the only city not to increase in March. The following chart shows the percentage change in dwelling values from the market trough to March 2013 [Source: RP Data–Rismark]. New home sales dropped by 5.3% month on month in February according to the Housing Industry Association [HIA], making it easier for potential village residents to sell their family homes - meaning more demand for existing homes.
