The Minister for Aged Care, Anika Wells, has announced a further $13 million investment in Aged Care Research and Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) over two years to help the organisation develop models to improve workforce capability, with a focus on home care, and establish an Aged Care Innovation Network and Community of Practice.
ARIIA was formed in 2021 with an initial $34 million to lead innovation in aged care.
To date, ARIIA has:
- funded 62 projects nation-wide,
- built a Knowledge and Implementation Hub that provides trusted, easy to use and up-to-date information and resources to users around the world, and
- helped more than 600 aged care workers develop local, innovative solutions and implement change in their workplaces through its Innovator Training Program.
ARIIA has spent $16.9 million on research of industry-identified problems, including $7.7 million from sector co-contributions.
