HammondCare Wahroonga, 22km northwest of the Sydney CBD, is specifically designed for people living with dementia and will provide 57 beds – a cost of around $368,000 per bed.

Featuring a cottage-style design model over five storeys, the facility includes five apartments with different levels of care provided on each floor, plus a chapel, retail, hairdresser and other amenities.
The NSW-based provider already operates a palliative care unit on the site and says the new facility will eventually form part of a health and aged care campus.
