Important research invitation: what is the 2015 retirement village construction and penetration

Can you please help?
We are trying to find out how many new retirement village units were built last year and how many will be built this year and next year.
It is apparent that nobody has a clear idea.
What about your organisation – have you been building or planning to build?
Can you please let us know so that we can share the broad numbers with the sector.
We have teamed up with Bendigo Bank and McCrindle Research to distribute a short, five question confidential survey to capture this information.
We need to know if your organisation:
has built any village units in 2014, or
is building any village units in 2015, or
planning to build any village units in 2016
If you answered yes to any of these three questions can you simply email back this newsletter with your organisation name and if possible the name of one executive who could fill out the five question research paper; it could be you.
We are not after exact numbers or values, just approximate numbers. (It will take about 60 seconds).
McCrindle Research will send out the research questionnaire. If we get multiple responses from one operator McCrindle will sort that out to eliminate duplication. They will also generate a brief report and send you a copy. John McNamara of Bendigo Bank will use the high level data in his LEADERS SUMMIT presentation 19-20 March.
Why is this important? Back of envelope calculations indicate approximately 2,000 village units were built last year when 5,500 were required to maintain 5% village penetration in the 65+ age bracket (8.8% penetration in the 75 age bracket). This means the sector is going backwards. We need to properly understand how great the slide is.
