Indigenous art inspired clubhouse opens at Victorian land lease community - described as a “next-generation” recreational facility

Lifestyle Communities’ 191-home land lease community in Mount Duneed, 93km south of Melbourne, has officially opened its state-of-the-art clubhouse. DKO Architects were commissioned to design the clubhouse for Lifestyle Mount Duneed, which will also serve as a ‘town centre’ for the lifestyle community. DKO’s 1600sq m ‘in the round’ design takes cues from local Aboriginal artwork depicting groups gathered around a camp site and watering hole. The new clubhouse has a range of new amenities including a gym, swimming pool and 27-seat cinema alongside a business centre. Lifestyle Mount Duneed’s third and final stage of construction is expected to be completed by 2021, with just 24 of the 58 new homes needing to be finished. Lifestyle Communities currently has 17 land lease communities across Victoria. Mount Duneed houses are selling for a median price of $590,000, lower than Victoria’s median house price which is $640,000.
