Retiring CEO of Summerset villages (NZ), Norah Barlow, is joining the board of Sydney based Ingenia, which operates the 9 Settlers brand DMF villages, the 34 Gardens brand rental villages and the 15 Active Lifestyle manufactured home estates. Norah leaves Summerset as the No.2 village operator in NZ as it announces a doubling of calendar-year profit to $34 million, a figure most Australian operators will only dream about. Importantly Norah has a strong track record with professional investors over 12 years she led Summerset. Its stock in NZ rose 43% last year alone, delivering a market capitalisation of $690 million. The retirement sector in NZ now accounts for 8% of the Top 50 stocks index (NZ X50).
