Labor victory in NSW Election “fantastic news” for retirement village residents

Craig Bennett (pictured at the LEADERS SUMMIT 2023), President of the NSW Retirement Village Residents Association (RVRA), said he will hold the incoming Labor Party to account after its promises during the election campaign.

The Weekly SOURCE reported last Tuesday that Courtney Houssos, then Shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Better Regulation and Innovation, had told the RVRA that Labor, if elected, would continue the $125,000 grant to the RVRA.

She also said Labor acknowledged that the Kathryn Greiner inquiry into the sector called for a dedicated ombudsman service and said, if elected, would investigate how to bring an ombudsman into being.

“The result is good news for residents in retirement villages. It is fantastic news,” Craig told the SOURCE.

“To be fair, the support we have had from all parties has been quite extraordinary. This is a pleasing result though.”
