Co-owner of the SA village operator with Ian Tregoning, Mr Hobbs (pictured) received the honours for his support of non-for-profit organisation Youth Opportunities, a SA organisation supporting young people, and the sport of Lacrosse in Australia. As of 2013, Mr Hobbs had personally donated over $1.4 million to support Youth opportunities. He has also previously received the Australian Sports Medal in 2000 and the World Lacrosse Award of Merit in 2009.
