National Seniors calls for aged care management to be criminally liable for physical abuse of residents

Advocacy group National Seniors has made its own submission to the Royal Commission over the break, warning that regulation in the industry had been “captured by providers and their owners” and criminal sanctions were needed to change staff behavior. The Royal Commission has so far heard multiple case studies of resident deaths as well as assaults and physical and chemical restraints.
