New Aged Care Payment System goes live
Providers can also now view their care minutes through the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal

Aged care providers can now view their care minute targets online and can submit claims and events through the new Aged Care Payment System (ACPS). Events such as entry to aged care, entry to palliative care, leave and aged care departures, can now all be lodged and tracked. The government has a Health Professional Education Resources page to help users navigate the new system. Providers can also now view their care minutes through the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal. For each facility, providers can see:
- the total average care minutes target that needs to be delivered by a combination of registered nurses, enrolled nurses, and personal care workers per resident per day, and
- the average registered nurse care minutes target that needs to be delivered by registered nurses per resident per day.
Care minutes targets not only inform staff planning but are also important in the transition to the new AN-ACC funding model (which commences 1 October 2022), and for Quarterly Financial Reports, which will feed into the Star Rating system from December this year. More information is available at Section 9 of the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal User Guide and in the fact sheet How to calculate care minutes targets.
