Assistant Minister for Social Services Senator Mitch Fifield launched homecaretoday.org.au, a new website to help older Australians and aged care providers prepare for the move to Consumer Directed Care (CDC).
CDCs are being progressively introduced into Home Care Packages and from July 2015 it will apply to all packages.
The website informs consumers and providers about CDCs. It contains considerable background reference material for operators. Click HERE for details.
Sen Fifields, speaking at ACSA yesterday, re-emphasised that public and private dollars should follow the person, not the operator, and that is a prime objective of CDC.
The project has been led by COTA, with the support of ACSA and LASA.
