Based on our back-of-envelope calculations, the Fair Work Commission's 3.75% Annual Wage Review decision equates to a cost of about $100 million that operators will have to fund for three months until new funding advice from the Independent Health and Aged Care Pricing Authority (IHACPA) kicks in from October 2024, and providers can be paid back. Meanwhile, millionaire aged care customers are being given home care and residential aged care for free. The Government must respond to the recommendations of the Aged Care Taskforce.
