Police questioning man over attempted assault in WA retirement village

An 81-year-old woman was attacked in her home in a retirement village in Greenfields – an hour south of Perth CBD – at roughly 2am on Sunday morning. The ABC reports that the man attempted to sexually assault the woman before she fought him off and the attacker fled. Police released a CCTV image of a suspect, after which a man was quickly apprehended. The woman has been hospitalised with cuts and bruises to her face and hands – and police report she has been shaken by the incident but is being cared for by family.
