The Avenues at Fairfield Grange in Idalia will include 76 units priced from $425,000 designed by local consultants i4architecture that will be co-located with its existing aged care facility. Constructed over five stages by local builder Mendi Constructions, the villas will have an eight-star energy rating with features including LED downlights, high cathedral-style ceilings to boost circulation and energy-efficient heat pump systems. Carinity also plans to introduce home care services to the site, opposite a dining and retail precinct The Precinct urban village, in late 2019. It’s not the only new development in town. PresCare is currently building its 140-bed Protea by PresCare facility at Douglas. They should both have demand however – Townsville’s over-65 population is expected to jump by 56% by 2028.
