Not For Profit South Australian aged care provider Resthaven has leased a block of land at Modbury, in Adelaide’s outer northeast, to the state Department of Infrastructure and Transport for temporary parking. The land on Smart Street, which Resthaven purchased in 2018, will be used as park-and-ride space for the nearby Modbury O-Bahn bus rapid transit station while a new carpark is built, with completion expected in June 2023. According to Resthaven CEO Darren Birbeck, the residential aged care home and retirement village planned for the site are in the “very early stages” of concept development.
“In the meantime, with the land vacant whilst building plans are being developed, we are pleased to be able to assist the local community with alternative parking while the State Department of Infrastructure and Transport upgrades the current park-and-ride adjacent to the O-Bahn,” he said.
Resthaven is currently focusing on its Bellevue Heights and Westbourne Park redevelopments.
