The NSW Not For Profit plans to expand the existing Horizons Village in west Dubbo, which it purchased four months ago, from 120 to 200 units and build a 60-bed aged care facility on 10,000 square metres of land next door.
Residents and the community will also have access to RSL LifeCare’s new home care service LifeCare at Home.
Acting deputy chief executive officer Illana Halliday said they were attracted to Dubbo because of its appeal to retirees from outlying communities.
“We did our homework beforehand. The demand for aged-care places is higher than what the supply is in Dubbo,” she said.
