Melbourne law firm Russell Kennedy and Sydney law firm Aitken Lawyers have announced the successful completion of their merger to create a 270-strong team – with the new partnership expected to target health, aged care and retirement living. Kennedy board member, Rohan Harris, told The Australian that these areas are “a strength” of the Melbourne firm. “We’ve got a few hot areas, aged care definitely off the back of the royal commission and I think there will be flow-on transactional work and regulatory work”, he said. Mr Harris said the merger will “no doubt” result in a growth in revenue – in the range of 10 to 20 per cent over the next couple of years, given there is “plenty happening” in the aged care sector.
