SATURDAY 50th issue special edition: Opal HealthCare CEO Rachel Argaman OAM on building the future of aged care

With 91 ‘Care Communities’ across NSW, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia and a pipeline of projects around the country, Rachel Argaman may be one of the hardest-working CEOs in the aged care sector – but also its biggest advocate. One of the first of a new breed of CEOs recruited to the sector from other industries, Rachel joined Opal HealthCare – which is jointly owned by global investment manager AMP Capital and Singaporean investment company G. K. Goh Holdings – in 2018 from Australian hospitality brand TFE Hotels where she headed up its more than 3,000 employees and nearly 100 hotels across five countries. At the time, the sector was at a crossroads thanks to the years of declining funding and negative media coverage. Five years on however, Rachel is firmly committed to the cause.
