With Support at Home delayed for another year, there is more time for consultation and to get the policy right. It has been broadly accepted that the initial model proposed by the Department of Health and Aged Care lacked flexibility, both in terms of its standardised service list and fixed prices. The Support at Home Alliance, which includes ACCPA, the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW, Community Transport (NSW), Home Modifications Australia and Meals on Wheels Australia, believes that an AN-ACC style funding model should be used for home care – AN-ACC at Home.
