Grant Corderoy has been telling finance executives across the country (Brisbane pictured) that their data shows that care funding actually does cover the cost of delivering care but the Basic Daily Fee does not cover the cost of accommodation and related services – the sector, he advises, has to collect more ‘rent’.
Under Plan B, the strategy created by us here at DCM, together with StewartBrown, co-contribution by residents to pay more as “rent” is the road the sector needs to pursue, says Grant.
He says the Department is warming to such a concept and terminology. It’s up to the sector to take the conversation to the wider community – which is Plan B.
Most of the operators attending the roadshow are signing up to support Plan B.
