Stockland gets green light for five-storey retirement village in Melbourne after compulsory mediation with council

As we covered here, the village operator’s plans to build four five-storey buildings with 280 apartments next to its Pines Shopping Centre in Doncaster East had been knocked back in May over the carpark design and building setbacks. Now the application has been approved after “compulsory mediation”, with Stockland increasing the number of public car parks and agreed to dedicate 5% of the apartments to affordable housing. A quick turn-around – and one achieved with just a few changes.
