This house to be demolished for seven seniors living apartments

This family home in Forestville, 12km north of Sydney’s CBD, will be bulldozed and replaced with a four-storey apartment block with seven seniors living units if a development application is approved by Northern Beaches Local Planning.

The development application for the $3.9 million development, opposite Melwood Oval, has been passed by Northern Beaches Council to Northern Beaches Local Planning for consent due to a breach of the Floor Space Ratio — the ratio of a building’s total floor area to the size of the piece of land upon which it is built — by more than 10%.

The council has recommended approving the proposal for four three-bedroom units and three, two-bedroom dwellings, with underground parking for 13 cars. The panel meets tomorrow.
