A development application for 72 units from Canberra Town Planning on behalf of Gough Pty Ltd in two six-storey and one four-storey buildings may be a retirement community in the ACT’s latest greenfield development.
The application includes wanting to change the lease for the site to allow a retirement village, supportive housing, residential care accommodation, child care centre, community activity centre and health facility.
The buildings, designed by Canberra firm Cirillo Architects, is on a roughly triangular 5770sqm site in Coombs in the Molonglo Valley, 15km from Canberra.
Coombs, along with Wright, are the first suburbs being built in the Molongo Valley, which when complete in the coming decades will have around 55,000 new residents.
All three buildings will offer units from one to three bedrooms, with 17 to be affordable as required. Ground floor apartments will have courtyards. Podium walkways will connect the buildings.
