Uniting Communities’ COVID-19 mental health support line records 10,000 contacts

A great initiative from the SA Not For Profit.

Uniting Communities has received 10,000 calls to a support line created to support individuals struggling with their mental health amid the pandemic.

Chief executive Simon Schrapel AM says in total, the Support Line – which is funded by SA Health – has worked with more than 6,300 individuals in its seven months of operation.

Uniting Communities’ Support Line currently provides:

  • Counselling over the phone or via video calls or online chat
  • Referrals to a range of services
  • Follow up calls to check in
  • Call backs if you need a message

The service is open from 8am to 9pm every day to support people who need help.
