WA: violence and bullying makes up one-third of lost time injuries in aged care facilities

WorkSafe WA is starting a six-month inspection program this month to reduce the rate of physical and psychological injuries due to workplace violence after finding around 93 per cent of lost time injuries were classified as assault by a person. Inspectors will be visiting facilities to assess the systems in place to prevent and manage incidents of violence and aggression. If improvements are found to be needed, they will also provide guidance and take further action if required.
