DA lodged by Warral Developments for 158-home over 50s community in West Tamworth
Sydney business Warral Developments bought the site in June 2022 and has submitted plans to demolish all existing structures and build "associated community facilities" and 158 prefabricated houses to be built over several stages of development, at an estimated cost of $16.3 million.

The Our Lady Of The Rosary College site in West Tamworth, the NSW city almost midway between Brisbane and Sydney, has become an eyesore since it was closed in 2003. Sydney business Warral Developments bought the site in June 2022 and has submitted plans to demolish all existing structures and build "associated community facilities" and 158 prefabricated houses to be built over several stages of development, at an estimated cost of $16.3 million.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to develop this historic site," Warral Developments co-director Damien Ash said in a statement to The Leader.
"Our passion is to create an over-50s lifestyle community for residents where they feel secure, engaged, and have a lifestyle they deserve without the cost of a traditional residential home."
It is understood the proposal is for an investment firm known in the sector.
