Across the Not For Profit’s 23 residential aged care homes in NSW and Southeast Queensland, 50% of residents have received a dementia diagnosis. Now it is implementing the 12-week Dementia Care Microlearning Program, which will see 2,000 members of Whiddon’s care teams learn how to spot Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia. Four successful trials of the program, which is funded by Aged Care Research & Industry Innovation Australia (ARIIA) in partnership with Flinders University, were held at Whiddon in June and July.
